Mixed Berry Crisp
My grandma always made crisps and crumbles. They are a quick and easy way to make a fast dessert, highlighting fruit. You can play around with berries, spices, nuts, oats, but this recipe keeps it simple.
2 cups blackberries
2 cup raspberries
1 cup blueberries
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Crisp Topping:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degreed Fahrenheit.
  2. Butter a 9 inch glass pie pan.
  3. Combine the berries with sugar, flour, and cinnamon: place the mixture into pie pan.
  4. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat, set aside. In a medium bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Drizzle in the melted butter over the mixture and stir to combine.
  6. Pour the mixture on top of the fruit, creating a half inch crust.
  7. Place the pie pan on a rimmed baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 30-40 minutes until berries bubble on the sides, and crust is golden.
