This class is designed as a hands-on workshop. It includes all the information you need to start canning your own food. When you finish the class you will be inspired and ready to safely waterbath can in your own home. We will discuss supplies, recipes, and go through the canning process together. You will work on your own jar to take home at the end of the class. Our classes take place in our commercial kitchen space located in Southeast Portland, Oregon. The cost of each class is $75 and includes active participation in the canning lesson and a jar of what we make together. The class also includes a selection of local drinks and light snacks.
Additionally we offer Pressure Canning Classes. Our pressure canning class offers instruction on safely pressure canning low acid foods such as stock, beans, and meats. It is the perfect gift for your DIY friends and family. The canning class offers a wide variety of skills from the basic pickling to advanced pressure canning. Gift certificates are $75 each and can be purchased in the Haute Shop.

Have your next group activity be a fun canning class. Tired of the same old party? We can work together to design your perfect event. Great for birthday parties, book clubs, bachelorette parties, baby showers, etc. We can have up to 15 people at the event.
